Phillip Dorroll
lives in Nashville, TN, where he is the owner and operator of
Dance America Productions and Dance Connection
Dance Studio. Phil is a full time dance instructor and
promoter teaching workshops and privates in the Mid-South and
Mid-West region. Phil teaches dance, promotes and organizes
various dance events and weekends across the country,
including,
Michigan Classic, Nashville Classic,
Nashville Swing Weekend, Dance America Dance Camp
In November
of 2005 Phil received the Star Award and was inducted into the
National Living Legends of Dance.
In addition, to teaching workshops at national conventions and
local clubs and studios, Phil has competed in many
competitions on the swing circuit

Kelly Palmiter |
Kelly teaches Swing, Latin, Ballroom
and Hip-Hop dance to students of all ages. He is known throughout
the local and national Social Dance Scene. He has been teaching
dance and performing for several years; teaching both group and
private lessons. He has received and continues to receive
instruction from the top names in dance in areas such as
Hollywood/Lindy, Balboa, Collegiate Shag, Salsa, Hustle, Casino de
Rueda and Hip-Hop. He has made appearances on Fox 2 television. He
has been a principal dancer at major performances such as Big Bad
Voodoo Daddy. He is the instructor for Lake Orion's Premier
Hip-Hop Dance Company, "Ground Control". His students have opened
for the Detroit Pistons and performed at many other events
including the Michigan State Fair. They have also won numerous
first place awards and overall high point awards at competitions
regionally and nationally. His students have won awards such as
the "Fred and Ginger" award as well as "Best Showmanship".
Laura has been dancing since the
age of three. She is the proud owner of L.A. Dance in Lake Orion,
MI. Growing up, she took classes in Ballet, Tap, and Jazz dance.
Laura started competing at the age of 11 and won many regional and
national awards. She was a member of the halftime cast at the
Florida Citrus Bowl in 1997. She has been teaching both
recreational and competitive dance for the past nine years. Her
students have won numerous first place awards and Platinum and
Gold medals. Some of her past and current students have won titles
such as "Miss Petite Dance of Michigan", "Miss Dance of Michigan"
and "Mr. Teen Dance of Michigan". She has won "Best Choreography"
at several different competitions. She is also a national judge
for the Kids Artistic Revue Dance Competition. She currently
teaches Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Lindy, Balboa, Collegiate
Shag, Hustle, Salsa, and Casino de Rueda. Her dance studio was
recently selected as one of "The Top 50 Studios across the nation"
according to Dance Teacher and Dance Spirit
Magazines!

New Orleans,
La native duane Wrenn was born to dance. Learning Salsa at 26 years
young, duane excelled quickly and now dances as if he has always known
Cuban blood flowed in his veins. President of the successful Energetic
Soul Studios in Clawson , Mi, duane has a B.S. degree in Exercise
Science and is a highly accredited Fitness Consultant. After working
as a Personal Trainer to the stars duane has focused mainly on
developing his unique dancing style. He now resides in Detroit,
Michigan. Over the last six years duane has put his knowledge and
experience to use developing several unique classes from dance to
aerobic and strength. With over 500 special appearances both locally
and abroad his experience and track record speaks for itself.
duane developed, in 2001, a Salsa aerobic class format with an
accompanying video aptly named
Energetic Salsa ™. This basic video teaches its viewers 7
main movements of the basic salsa steps. The video then progresses
into a dynamic aerobic class based on unlimited variations of the 7
foundation movements. duane is also the creator of Soul°sa ™ where
he combines linear and circular styles of partner Salsa dancing. This
is what duane refers to as “ Mi
receta y Mi Sazon” .
Since the Energetic Salsa Video duane has produced three more
instructional DVD’s based on popular programs developed by Energetic
Soul. There is an introduction to SoulºSa
DVD Adapt – Ability I for beginners, SoulºSa
DVD Adapt – Ability
II for more intermediate dancers. There is also an intermediate
instructional
DVD on Casino turns (Cuban Style) this is Con Alma 2.
duane is
considered one of the most influential instructors of Afro-Cuban and
Salsa (Casino) style dancing in the Midwest . His background ranges
from Cuban Rumba, Son, Capoeira, and Break dancing.

11 am to 12 pm: Cha
Cha Cha Suelta (Estilo Cubana)
This class is a mix of
Cha Cha Cha and Son timing. This timing starts on 8 and breaks on 2. The
format incorporates calls from Energetic Salsa and original calls designed
for the class. This is a footwork based class where each participant will
learn fundamental footwork basics that will be applied to several
limitless combinations based on Cha Cha Cha timing. The class is designed
with multiple levels of difficulty. There is a lot of body movement and a
great deal of fun to be had! This is the ultimate class to practice for
timing improvement.
12pm to 1 pm:
Soul*sa
Soul*sa is Energetic
Soul’s version of partner style salsa dancing. Soul*sa is unique in that
it is inspired by both linear and circular variations of Latin dancing.
Soul*sa uses three main movements as its foundation. Learn how to be a
unique dancer with exciting styling and a smooth flow. Timing choices are
on time (dance on 1), son tiempo (break on 2) or contra son tiempo (break
on 3).
1pm to 2pm: Casino
Salsa-
This class is designed
to give participants turns based on circular movements. Learn how to take
your partner from linear to circular dancing with a change of momentum in
the form of a tap. Participants then progress to circular turns with a
Cuban flair. This class has No Rueda Involved.
(Rueda is a circle
or wheel.)
In order to dance
RUEDA at least
two couples are needed. There can be up to even twenty or thirty and all
leaders must be able to perform the turns. There is one mian caller that
gives commands to the whole group. Partners are typically changing
frequently. This is a high energy exciting game.

Lori Burton |
Lori Burton
has over twenty five years of dance experience that includes
teaching Argentine Tango, Ballroom, Latin, Rhythm and Ballet. Her
accomplishments include: former soloist with the Metropolitan
Ballet Society, numerous top teacher awards at various dance
competitions, tango exhibitions on PBS, former two time state body
building champ, featured appearances on local television and ESPN,
in addition to feature articles in the Detroit News, Detroit Free
Press, Macomb Daily and Crane's Business News
Lori's
commitment to expanding her knowledge of the Argentine Tango will
takes her to Buenos Aires to study with the masters usually twice
a year. In addition, Lori has hosted or attended over fifty
conferences and workshops across the US. Carlos Gavito, Mingo
Pulgliese, Osvaldo Zotto, Fabian Salas, Graciela Gonzalez, Gustavo
Naveira, Miguel Zotto, Juan Carlos Copes, Aurora & Jorge Firpo,
Facundo & Kely Posadas, Pablo Veron, Sergio Cortazzo & Gachi
Fernandez and the Dinzels are just a few of the masters that have
helped Lori become one of the top instructors in the country.
Classes

Patterns and Floor Craft for the Elegant Argentine TangoCircular patterns
and flair for moving fluidly across the floor
